Roof for Paws- Reflective Collar Project

In the December of 2020, grassroot level organisation Roof for Paws took up the initiative of raising funds for a reflective collar project to be carried out in the National capital region. With the aim of reducing the number of accidents that results in the death of thousands of strays every year due to the low visibility during the winter season, the team came up with the idea of providing reflective collars to the strays to make them visible to the car drivers on nights/mornings of low visibility.

We started the project late in November when we conducted a small fundraiser to collect money for the project. We then contacted volunteers who were the ultimate face of our project. With the great response, we received from our volunteers we completed the project collaring 200+ dogs in the whole of NCR.

With the great response, we received from everyone we aim to expand this project furthermore in the future increasing the number of dogs we collar. This smallest initiative will surely save a lot of stray lives from being lost. In this big world, we did our little bit in making this place a better and happier one!

Overview of ROOF FOR PAWS

Started under the mentorship of students from the highly esteemed Harvard University in the year 2018, Roof for paws is a non-profit organisation that thrives to work towards providing a healthier environment for the strays to grow up in. Our motto is to put a Roof over any and every stray animal that we come across, either by the method of adoption or by physically building up new shelters in the localities. By this, we want to ensure that every animal gets the care they deserve so that they aren’t mere “Stray Animals”.

We at Roof for Paws work with a vision and a motto: To make an impact on the lives of the creatures who can’t speak up for themselves and help them grow up nourished and loved. On this unmeasurable planet, we do our little bit in making it a better place for other creatures and thus finding meaning in our existence.
